The Nurturing Parent Center has been a dream of mine for years. Ever since I was a little girl, I wanted to be a mom. As a mother and grandmother as well as a professional mediator, group facilitator, coach and kinesiologist my greatest desire has always been contributing to family harmony. When I found that I was actually going to be a mother, I realized that I didn't want to parent the way I was parented so I began to study and take classes. To parent in a different way than the way you were raised requires being very conscious and choosing how you want to relate to your children. I have been dedicated to this for almost 40 years, and I love sharing what I have learned with other parents. Mediation is very natural for me. When I was in high school, my boyfriend and I created a little business. People could ask for advice and we would discuss the situation and give the advice from the perspective of a boy and a girl. We charged a dime. When I was actually trained as a mediator, I learned that it isn't about giving advice at all. It is about listening and facilitating communication between the two or more parties. I love mediation and seeing the miracles happen in relationships - even when it may look like there is no solution. Conflict Resolution Training is also a pleasure. I love watching people learn how to deal with conflict in a productive way. Kinesiology means the study of movement, and how movement can have a positive effect on the brain, both in infants and throughout our lifetimes. It is a way to access the body's innate intelligence as well as effortlessly release blocks and open potential for real-life results. I am trained in a number of different types of kinesiology and love being able to support families to move through their blocks and have the harmony they are looking for. |
